How does Brookside affect change in our local community?

Brookside Elementary is involved in many community service arenas within the Shoreline District. The Works, is one that is near and dear to our hearts, and been part of the Brookside giving program for many years. Through this service, we help to provide gently used and new clothing to children and teenagers within our community. This is a year-round program that anyone can contribute too. If you’d like more information on how to volunteer or donate to The Works, please click here.

Monetary donations are always needed. If this way of giving better suits you, checks can be mailed to Shoreline PTA Countil “The Works”, PO Box 55832, Shoreline, WA 98155. Monetary donations can be made using Paypal at The Works website.

Our Fall Sock Drive is another program that helps to support the The Works program. Every year around the time of our Annual Sock Hop, where we ensure that every child or teenager who is in The Works program will receive new socks they can use throughout the year.

During the holidays, some very dedicated volunteers spearhead a committee to organize our Holiday Gift Basket  & Teen Gift Drive. This year’s program begins November 30th and runs through December 11!  This Drive helps to provide food and gift support for families in need during the holiday season.

We have many other programs throughout the year, and those will be posted on this site and notifications will be sent out to our Brookside families through your children's take-home materials. Information will include details of these programs, contact information for our committee chairs and how you can help!
